ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anastasia Tiller is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Lethbridge, NL. Her work encompasses monochromatic figurative referencing photographic imagery, gestural flat paintings, and colourful pointillism landscapes as well as murals. Her textile works put a fun and whimsical new spin on the traditional Newfoundland and Labrador art of rug hooking, creating fantastical ocean creatures in bright pops of colour that seek to brighten up foggy or snowy days. Solo exhibitions of Tiller’s work have been held at Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, St. John’s; The Leyton Gallery of Fine Art, St. John’s; and Château de Brou, Noyant-de-Touraine, France. Tiller is actively involved in the provincial visual arts community as an art teacher and served on Visual Artists Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Directors for 3 consecutive years. She also participates in Francophone community of Newfoundland and Labrador.
