Erin Hunt
Bonavista Biennale presents a body of Erin Hunt’s new and recent paintings, collages and found-object sculptures. Hunt’s visual language draws from sources including plants, minerals, children’s books, philosophical texts, art history, beach garbage and other found objects. The paintings emerge through an improvisational process that playfully engages the relationship between inner and outer landscapes, connecting vivid impressions of nature with personal memories, bodily sensations, and the spiritual realm. Moving in and out of abstraction, Hunt’s work explores how we process our experiences of space, time and our place in the universe.
