Riddle Fence is back with another special Bonavista Biennale issue! Join contributors Jennifer May Newhook and Matthew Hollett for live readings of texts connected to Biennale artists, and the issue’s theme of “Knots, Nets, and Ties that Bind.”

Riddle Fence is a hub for fast-paced literature from Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada, and around the world. Published quarterly, Riddle Fence includes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, features and reviews alongside contemporary art.

About the Writers:

Jennifer May Newhook writes poetry as well as short- and long-form narrative fiction. She has been published in literary journals and magazines locally and across Canada. Her first poetry collection, Last Hours, published by Riddle Fence Debuts Press, was released in Spring 2024. Jennifer lives in downtown St. John’s, NL.

Matthew Hollett is a writer and photographer in St. John’s, Newfoundland (Ktaqmkuk). Optic Nerve, his collection of poems about photography and visual perception, was published by Brick Books in 2023. It was shortlisted for the J.M. Abraham Poetry Award, and longlisted for the BMO Winterset Award.
