Safety & Accessibility

We know that plenty of folks visiting the Bonavista Biennale have limited mobility, or concerns about where to park and how far they will need to walk in order to access various sites.

Parking lots are often available. In other locations, off-road parking is normally acceptable. Please be courteous of the communities you’re visiting and treat private property as if it were your own. On our site map, we’ve also marked which sites are wheelchair accessible and/or visible from the road.

Another accesible stop along the southern portion of the ‘Biennale loop’ is Round Da Bay Inn in Plate Cove West where you’ll find a restuarant, gift shop and two wheelchair accessible washrooms with adult change tables available.

Access to Biennale sites and walking distances vary. Unfortunately, not every Biennale site is accessible to wheelchair users or those using other mobility assistive tools. Some installations can be easily enjoyed from a distance, with no walking required.

We welcome your questions about accessibility and a discussion on how we can best support your own tour of Biennale sites. Feel free to contact Executive Director Sue Balint (sue@bonavistabiennale.com) with your specific questions or concerns.
