Biennale Site Coordinator
Start Date: July 21, 2025
End Date: August 29, 2025 (*with the possibility of extending)
Average of 35 hours per week
Hourly Wage: $16.50
This position is funded under the Canada Summer Jobs program (pending results). Eligible youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Join the Bonavista Biennale team and play an essential role in delivering the 2025 edition. As a Site Coordinator, you’ll be working directly with the Executive Director to build relationships, and ensure artists and attendees get the most out of their visit to the Biennale. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about planning and running a large-scale contemporary art event and to meet artists and visitors from all over the world.
The 2025 Bonavista Biennale will run from August 16 – September 14.
Tasks include:
- Daily scheduling and correspondence with Site Ambassadors;
- Contributing to the hosting of artists and other VIP guests of the Biennale;
- Assisting with special event coordination and delivery;
- Liaising with artists and partners participating in the Biennale as required;
- Assisting with content creation and social media scheduling and posting;
- Monitoring upkeep of projects and supplies at various sites around the Peninsula;
- Acting as a Site Ambassador during Biennale hours to welcome attendees, answer questions and provide information;
- Attending team meetings as required;
- Assisting with day-to-day administrative duties (including mailings, scheduling, email correspondence, etc.) as required.
A driver’s license and access to vehicle will be considered an asset (mileage to be reimbursed at provincial rate). Local candidates or those with accommodation options available to them on the Bonavista Peninsula will be prioritized. Applicants not already residing on the Peninsula will be responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodations.

Biennale Program Assistants (2 positions)

- Contributing to the hosting of artists and other VIP guests of the Biennale;
- Assisting with site preparation and installation / de-installation of art projects;
- Assisting with the facilitation of Biennale programs, including workshops and artist talks
- Liaising with artists and partners participating in the Biennale as required;
- Assisting with visual documentation of Biennale activities;
- Assisting with the production of social media content
- Acting as a Site Ambassador during Biennale hours to welcome attendees, answer questions and provide information;
- Scheduling and liaising with other Site Ambassadors and casual contractors;
- Attending team meetings as required;
- Assisting with day-to-day administrative duties (including mailings, scheduling, email correspondence, etc.) as required.
